Birkbeck College, University of London

Birkbeck, University of London, is a research intensive institution with a strong social mission to provide the highest quality of education delivered in a flexible manner through a blend of inspirational face-to-face events and modern digital learning. We have been delivering postgraduate Sport Management programmes for over twenty years. Our recent programme developments include key collaborations with industry partners StatsPerform and Ace Advisory/Football Benchmark to ensure our courses are relevant for those wanting to work in the sports industry. We are also one of the academic partners of UEFA on the MESGO and the UEFA MIP Executive Masters programmes. All of our courses draw on the research expertise of academic colleagues in the Birkbeck Sport Business Centre, which provides regular policy advice and consultancy to the sports sector.

Internationally renowned for its academic excellence, emlyon business school is a globally ranked institution and among the 1% to hold triple accreditation by AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA.

Its Master of Science in Sports, Entertainment & Lifestyle (SEL) is specifically designed for future leaders who wish to have a jump in these dynamic interconnected fields. The program goes beyond traditional sports management by incorporating a deep understanding of lifestyle trends and entertainment culture. Its unique approach, through hands-on projects and real-world case studies in strategic management, brand partnerships, and innovative marketing techniques position students at the forefront of industry innovation, ready to lead the change and stand out in these rapidly changing markets.

The MSc in SEL is a program of excellence delivered 100% in English on the emlyon business school campus in Paris and with our partners, FSA ULaval in Quebec and HEC Montréal.

The program currently has 50 students of 16 nationalities.

Hamad Bin Khalifa University

Offered by Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s College of Science and Engineering in partnership with the University of South Carolina (USC) and supported by the UNESCO Chair on Governance and Social Responsibility in Sport, the Master of Science in Sport and Entertainment Management (MSEM) provides a comprehensive overview of the sport and entertainment industries. The goal of the MSEM program is to train and qualify students for management and leadership positions across these dynamic fields. The curriculum delivers a multidisciplinary skillset covering the legal, financial, as well as operational, management and governance aspects of the sport and entertainment industries. With Qatar as the backdrop, the MSEM aims to support the growth and development of the sport industry in the MENA region; and further enable graduates to address complex challenges of the global sport and entertainment sector. The MSEM courses provide opportunities to learn from industry experts via site visits, workshops and collaborative projects.

Seattle University

Sheffield Hallam University

We represent a suite of three programmes – MSc Sport Business Management, BSc (Hons) Sport Business Management in the UK and in Hong Kong. All three courses have a great emphasis on applied learning, internationalisation, and social capital in action. We provide students with direct access to sports industry and strong alumni network. The undergraduate provision has been developed in collaboration with industry experts and accredited by CIM. The MSc programme is designed for individuals looking to work on industry-based business projects in world-class sports organisations. In 2020 it was rated 2^nd in the UK and 6^th in Europe by SportBusiness International global rankings. The MSc course is also in Top 10 courses ‘Most valuable in furthering career’ – and we are the only UK course in that category. Our recent graduates work in business roles for Formula 1, New Balance, Arsenal FC, Inter Milan, Nielsen Sports and The International Paralympic Committee.

What a great experience for everyone involved!!! Congratulations to the winners, but also to SportsPro. A much needed initiative, well planned and professionally delivered. Another milestone in the development of sport as an important industrial sector and business activity.

It was an honour to be a mentor to the students taking part in the SportsPro Hackathon themed on sustainability. The energy, passion and enthusiasm of the students taking part was fantastic to witness. I am confident the event has provided them with an excellent opportunity for personal development, which will aid them in their careers. It is safe to say that the future of the sports industry and indeed the planet should be in safe hands with these creative and purpose driven thinkers.

I was incredibly impressed with the quality of projects from the students – their creativity and ground-breaking concepts are essential for the future well-being of the sporting industry and this initiative provided an unequivocal ability to bring fresh insight and conceptual development into our world. These are undeniably the future leaders in the business of sport.
